TABS is an early college/high school collaboration with Fort Worth Independent School District. I have been able to lecture about anatomy topics, create active learning assignments for students, create labs for students to participate in, and have been able to mentor students who are interested in STEM degrees.
JAMP is a program set up to support and encourage highly qualified, economically disadvantaged students to pursue medical careers in Texas. I have been able to lecture, create labs and assignments for students, and mentor students that are hoping to pursue a medical career.
An initiative within Arlington Independent School District to increase diversity within STEM higher education. I have met with students and planned events for students to learn more about careers in STEM.
I have been able to mentor students within my Structural Anatomy & Rehabilitation Sciences department concerning anatomy courses, oral qualifying examination preparations, and graduate school life in general.
As an instructor for visiting college students, I have been able to teach different human body systems and have given tours throughout UNTHSC's anatomy laboratory.
I'm a member of the AACA 2022 planning committee for the upcoming regional meeting in Fort Worth, TX.
